Snap-on Tools Australia and New Zealand is a subsidiary of Snap-on Incorporated, a leading global innovator, manufacturer and marketer of tools, diagnostics and equipment solutions for professional tools users. Snap-on was founded in Wisconsin in 1920 and originated from our founders producing a unique and patented product of five unique handles and ten sockets that snapped on interchangeably, coined “Five do the work of Fifty,”.
Operating in Australia since 1988, Snap-on is one of the longest running and successful franchises in Australia and the world. Snap-on has over 80,000 SKU’s in our product line, over 3,300 active and pending patents, 13 manufacturing facilities in the U.S.A, serves customers in more than 130 countries, and also has a global franchise network of more than 4,800 franchises.
The Snap-on Tool range has over 22,000 hand tools, power tools, tool storage products, diagnostics, equipment and related accessories. Our brand has earned the respect and trust of generations of professionals.
OUR HISTORY
In the 1930s, During the Great Depression, struggling mechanics couldn’t afford the tools. Snap-on invented the needs list and the Revolving Account payment plan system used today to help mechanics to get the tools they need.
In 1920s, Developed five unique handles and ten sockets that snapped on interchangeably, coined “Five do the work of Fifty,” launched a company that would shape an industry and would revolutionize repair and make work easier for professional mechanics.
In 1940s, Snap-on was essential to the war effort and produced tools that kept air and ground equipment operating.
